hey, I guess im kinda a noob and i have some questions that I hope someone can help me with. We have recently purchased a boat and I am wanting to go fishing and trolling in the Rappahannock river. I was wondering what type of lures i should use. I will be fishing for mostly crocker and rock fish. I was also wondering what other supplies and stuff like that I will be needing. I already have 2 pretty nice rods and reels. Thanks for helping.

I would use a 4 to 6 oz Torpedo sinker with a dropper loop tied at about 12inches above it.

#4 bait hook and a small strip of squid or small anchovy.[cool]

Sorry about that. I must have skipped the part in your post that said "Lures". Duh

Strike King, one of my sponsors, makes a little Jerk Shad called the Zulu 3x. It comes in a few different colors and I do believe that Wallys World carries them. If you can't find them there, then you can get them from Cabelas.

They are very stretchy.

You can hook them up straight to a 2/0 Gamakatsu worm hook and fish it weedless. You may neet to use a Carolina rig with 1/4 to 3/8oz bullet weight depending on how much current the river is flowing right now.

I have seen that river flowing fast and I have seen it slow. It sounds like you will be fishing it a little closer to Chesapeake Bay or within a mile or so of the bay.

Please let us know if you need any more info.

By the way, Welcome to Big Fish Tackle.[cool]
