Done with Pineview
#1
After several negative experiences with surly and unfriendly personnel at the Port Ramp, I have avoided Pineview for a while. A few weeks ago, I launched at the cemetery point ramp, and even though there was no wedge dock, (don my waders), the two ladies at the station were nice and I had some success with tiger muskys. I decided to give it a try today and drove to the port ramp hoping for a wedge dock. Arrived about 6:30 to find the gate locked at the highway. No sign or explanation that I could see. Another boat was there looked like he was waiting for them to open the gate. I drove around to the Cemetery Point pay station to find a "No Dogs Allowed" sign. Me and my little canine fishing buddy drove home.

I'm just guessing here, but I think the "No Dogs" might mean for those using the Cemetery Point beaches.  I wouldn't think it would apply to having your best buddy with you on your boat.  But then again, the concessionaires have their own twisted sense of harassment for their customers.  Was the booth maned such that you could of asked them about taking your dog with you on your boat?

Was the ramp at Cemetary point even open? Another member posted that the port ramp was closed, so they normally close the Cemetery point ramp at the same time. He did mention that the ramp at Anderson cove was open but it cost $23 to launch there, is that the same price they charge at Cemetary point?

Someone on YouTube said that the Port Ramp will be closed for renovations.

They lock all the gates except Anderson after Labor Day.

"Renovations" probably means they are getting new signs with higher launch cost.
