Ventured to Rockport yesterday. Unfortunately Dubob is down with a nasty cold and stayed home which we encouraged him to do. Extended an invite to another BFT’r but declined. We met up with WyoGuy and surprise visit at ramp by PikeMan.
So launching ice chariots from side of ramp made our way out. Ice conditions were awesome. Fished close to 50FOW striking gold, Brown and Rainbow. We kept 18 Perch. We also caught 2 Browns and 2 Rainbows still swimming. WyoGuy did about the same. All my trout came up off bottom to be brought to the light.
Lures tipped with spikes or perch eye. Fish interest hit the normal noon slow down. Packed it in bout 1330. Was fun.
Weather was good breezy and squalls of light snow. Breeze for sure made for a little cold.
Pic of brown returning to depths.

[#0000FF]Excellent. Glad you gals are still finding some fishable ice. Probably won't last much longer.

Nice report. It's good to know there is still good fishing after hearing about so much slumping (okay, I can make up words).

The older I get the more I would rather be considered a good man than a good fisherman.

I hope to Pat, seems like they always have it when I have something else planned though. But it's always my intention to come.

[font "Comic Sans MS"][#800000][size 3]Not happy I had to stay home, but it was for the best reasons. Heading to Georgia on Saturday to chase quail for a few days. Need to be healthy for that. Then I'll be ready for some more ice time. I figure we'll be good until the end of March on the higher lakes (like Strawberry) if not the closer ones. Take care and tight lines. See ya in about a week. [

Good luck on your Georgia hunt Bob, I just booked a trip to Oklahoma for a three day sandhill crane hunt this fall, something I have never done and always wanted to try.
