Hey Idaho fishermen

Can't help noticing that most forums in states other than Utah and Idaho kinda suck. I have an unplanned trip to the Portland area soon. Does anyone have advice for the Columbia in that area?

I don't know if many from here fish that area. The only part of the Columbia I've fished is the Tri-Cities area near Kennewick. Excellent for Smallmouth bass there. Hopefully someone on here will know the Portland area.

In the Portland area you have the Willamette River as well as the Columbia to choose from. The Willamette goes right through downtown Portland area and is a short drive for launching a boat from just about anywhere in the Portland area.

I'm definitely not a novice for that area and the guide that I had previously used has retired.
If you are going over soon, you might do very well for Spring Chinook as well as sturgeon.
If you're going to go with a guide, you better get it booked pretty quick.
