Ice'n Cutts & Boat'n Cats
#1
I have gone from ice fishing in 10"of snow 30 degree temps to fishing out of a boat in 60 degree temps all in a three day span. Gotta love this time of year in Utah.
Needing to get in my fix for the hard deck I took my nephew up to Strawberry Saturday. Air temps were in the low teens when we arrived and 10 am. Got setup and had first fish 30 min later. Marked quite a few fish but they showed little to no interest in my offerings. Caught three more before noon, then they completely disappeared til around 2 pm, caught three more before leaving at 3 pm. Temp was in the low 30s when we left. Was a blast to set the hook and let my little fishing buddy do the heavy lifting. Biggest of the day was 21" All Cutts were caught with Chub meat tipped on any jig.

Didn't have any work Monday so decided it would be the perfect day to pull the boat out of storage and test my luck with the kittys. Took a little work to get the boat motor started and running properly, but I finally made it out to Lincoln Beach around 3 pm. Got the boat launched and headed for where I hoped the kittys would be basking in the sunshine. Got three cats to the boat and missed one, one was 18" other two were 20-21". Water temp was 50 degrees where I fished. Hopefully the big southern kittys will wake up soon.
