		i have an older mercury 9.8 outboard and my prop is leaking gear lube and i need to have the prop shaft seal replaced, has any one tackled this project by themselves?  I need it done before further damage occurs
Any advice welcome

		Are you sure that it is gear lube?  I have seen a lot of people think its leaking gear lube but its just burnt 2 stroke oil.  It would be really dark in color and be dripping through the prop area as well.

		Its gearlube. Cuz its bone dry when I checked

		umm bummer!  I know there are some special tools required to remove the ring behind the prop.  Have you called any shops or are you looking to do it yourself. I know some shops rent some of the special tools need.
