Wader repairs?

Well, went out in the harbor today and after about an hour I noticed my waders started taking on water in my right foot. I have the thin material stearns chest waders with the soft footies. What's a good way to find where I'm leaking from, and what is a good material to apply to fill the hole.thanks alot guys.

I was goin Croaker Crazy!!Brought a friend that I have been hounding for weeks to buy a tube and is totally re-sold on fishing and now I'm not the only floating snack out there, safety in numbers. I also was wondering where I could find info on legal fish regulation sizes. I'll add the couple of pictures I got in the morning

[cool][#0000ff]Glad you found some fishies that wanted to play. Also glad you converted a new tubing buddy. Always a good idea to go with somebody else...just in case. I suggest you get a set of walkie talkies so you can exchange info (and ragging) while on the water and too far apart for normal communication.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]To repair your waders first get a tube of Aquaseal. Then turn your waders inside out and fill the leaky leg with water...either in your tub or outside on the lawn. Have a red marker handy to mark wherever water appears. Look for more than one spot. Once leaks start to develop in "breathables" you can get multiple pinholes in a wear area.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Dry the waders on both sides. You can put the Aquaseal patch on either side but it is less visible if you patch the inside.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]If it is just a pinhole or small leak, either lay the waders so the area is flat...or stretch it over a small box or container and bungee it tight and flat. Squeeze a small amount of the Aquaseal on it and spread it around so it covers for about a half inch on all sides of the hole. Allow to cure for several hours. The patch will be flexible and waterproof.[/#0000ff]

Pinholes are easy to fix. Now, if the seam is leaking...................[:/].

Thanks again guys your all life savers. Sorry I still haven't got the pics uplloaded, sometime today. I'm debating on going back out today still trying to land that BIG one!! Do you know of any good honey holes here in the Newport area I like the area that I've found but I'd like to start searching for a couple of alternate areas with alternate species. Water seems to be getting warmer and weathers been beautiful, yesterday was almost like being in the lake haven't ever seen water conditions like that before. Oh and forgot to say hooked up with a great bass yesterday gave me a run for my money on 6 pound test.

On pin holes, also check out Loon's UV wader repair. Put it on in the shape, hold it in the sun once it is on and it dries instantly. You don't want to use this on larger holes though as it can be a little hard.

[cool][#0000ff]I have been away from the salt for a few years and have not kept up on the changes. I know there are some harbors now that do not allow tubing. Be sure to check the regulations.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Have heard some decent reports from Huntington Harbor and from Los Alamitos. Also, lots of halibut chasers like the Long Beach harbor. Lots of protected beaches there that see some big butts coming into pretty shallow water. The key is to be able to get bait. Usually gotta make your own with a net or sabiki rig in the channels or off the pier. But...the butts will hit a lot of plastics and cranks too when they are on the chew. I have caught a few on spinners while fishing for surf perch.[/#0000ff]
