We got on the water about 7:30 this AM. First 3 casts had 2 crappie and then 2 casts later had another, emoParty Thought it was gonna be a banner day but they slowed down after that and it was slow goin'
for the rest of the day, emoRedface We fished 'till 12:15 and headed for the trailer as the seadoo's and destroyers were beginning to get going, emoAngry
Covered several docks and structures but only ended up with 25 crappie, 1 spaaattt big enough to keep and 2 'gills. We only kept 7 crappie keeping in mind our 11" minimum slot length. BenTim caught one that was 13 & 3/4 inch but not too fat, emoScratch I would have thought that most would be really fattening up with all the minnows that we're seeing but none of the 7 that I kept had minnows in them, emoScratch I had 2 that were over 13 inches.
The count was 12 or more, a couple were 20 feet down in 25 FOW. Best bait seemed to be BG crystal shad today
Water temp was 81* - 83* and the wind was about 5 mph out of the south. Looking forward to cooler weather and maybe the crappie fishing will pick up, emoSmile
