casting of 2 - 4 oz weights without breakage!

what the lowest diameter line you should use when casting a surf rod with 2-4oz sinkers without the line snapping on cast???[crazy]

I will generally use 12lb test on up to 20lb. If you are fishing directly from the beach and need 4oz due to the tide, I would go no less than 15lb test. 20 would still be better and you could just tie a 12 or 15lb leader to your hook.[cool]
