Freaky Warm
#1
I'm not complaining, but isn't this warm weather all the sudden kinda strange? Not that it's smokin' hot or anything, but it's suppose to be in the mid to high sixties all week. That's going to bring the water temp up 5 or 6 degrees. We'll be fishing again in no time.

With that said, what are some of the places everyone is heading for thier first trip of the season? What fish are you targeting?

I know my first trip out is going to be to the inshore reef out of murrells inlet. I'm going to try out my soon to be rewired center console, and hopefully stretch the line on some new reels and test out the ol' fighting chair I installed late this past fall. I'm going to be targeting sharks and maybe drop a line down for a few flounder and seabass while we're there. I like to mix things up a bit. [cool]

Hatchery? heated pond? Sound like a recipe for good fishing. We've got a little while yet. There's no heated ponds around here, atleast not that I know of. It would be sweet if there was. I take it the hatchery is catch and release, or do they let you keep a few?

Yesterday in Bismarck we got up to 75 degrees! Broke the record from the 1940s I think it was. Only problem was the winds were 20-35mph or else I would have been on the water fishing![cool]

LOL, I hear ya on the wind, it really sucks. That's like here. It's going to be 80 degrees today and high 70's all week. Come the weekend, low 60's. What's up with that? LOL

Oh well, I guess when mother nature decides to get things rolling, we'll be hittin' the water.

Did you do any fishing this winter?

You guys are batting 1000 over there aren't you? Hasn't Cali had atleast one major fire every year for quite some time? It's probably the constant hot weather you all have. I know how we can fix this problem DR, well do a petition to mother nature to evenly divide the warm weather between Cali and South Carolina. [cool] Maybe then you'll have less fires over there, and we can fish year around in warm weather over here. [Smile]

[font "Poor Richard"][green][size 3][Sad]Hey there T4M our fire season was about as long as your hurricane season. Now it is all year long. A few years ago a major fire which destroyed 2400 homes was set by a guy that was lost in the woods to draw attention to his where abouts. Yea - he sure did get attention. Heat & wind is our major problem. Once a fire gets going the wind creates a fire storm. That is one frightening thing to see no less being caught up in one.[/size][/green][/font]
