In our neighboring states, summer anglers can legally fish with 2 lines (Iowa, N. & S. Dakota) or 3 lines (Wisconsin). How many lines should it be legal for Minnesota anglers to fish with during the summer?

We'er allowed two poles per angler here in CT. But to be honest, unless I'm trolling the other pole just gets in the way.

I'd just be three times as disappointed at how many fish I'm not catching..

I'm with dryrod on this one...I don't fish with live bait, and I don't have a boat to troll with (and probably wouldn't even if I did)...I think one pole per person is all that's needed, unless of course you're only a meat fisherman or a commercial fisherman...then, you need all the help you can get.

I vote for only one rod per person.

I like the idea of 1 person, 1 rod. What would you do if 2 or 3 rods went off at the same time?

1 person 1 rod.[cool]

In Utah, you can buy a permit for $15 and fish on 16 bodies of water that are specified in the proclamation. Some people use two poles when catfishing, trolling for crappie, or ice fishing.

that was great, you stated a fact about your state, now how about an opinion as to the query set forth in the original post.

I kinda did evade the issue didnt' I? The question - just because other states allow 2 poles should MN do the same? My 2 penny opinion - that's not a justifiable reason to change the law.
