Sport King 3/4 day fishing report 4/10/05

We went on the Sportking 3/4 day boat out of LA Harbor Sportfishing. The boat left at 7:pm and headed for the CAT.

The inshore bite was next to nothing with only a handful of blue perch being caught.

We went out deep for rock fish and spent a few hours picking away.

We caught some Whitefish, several species of Rockfish as well as some Bocaccio.

The JP was a 10lb Bocaccio caught by me.

The wind started kicking up so the trip was cut short. We were back at the dock around 4:15pm.

Bet it was around Black Rock on the West End.

The JP actually came closer to Bird Rock. About 1/2 a click NW. I did get 3 others that were barely 8lbs near Black rock. We were in the 40 fatham zone.

These little guys bite a little different from their Channel Island brothers.

The Channel Island type would only bite on a super lively Dine.

These CAT type were hitting on Dines, live squid, fresh dead, and strips. Of course, the smaller ones caught on the boat were on the strips.[cool]
