Here is an article that has a ton of information on fizzing and mortality. It refers to at least a half dozen studies. It also includes a listing of all states that recommend, don't recommend, allow, or prohibit fizzing. When asked the survey question "Do you recommend fizzing?", Utah DWR answered yes.

yes i know that carp have been in yuba forever.. i have fished the res for over 30 years now.. and the same problem is going to plague the lake every time we hit a extended drought.. the water will drop the fish will croud together and the carp bred like rabbits but nothing else will and the lake will crash.. i have seen it happen 3 times now in my life at yuba and gunnison res..
but if there is something in the lake to start with that will control the carp from the start.. the crash would not be as bad..
even a better qustion why did the DWR not brack out there can of fix a lake and cleanse the whole system of them nasty carp and fix the whole problem to start with? they had the water level down to almost nothing it would have been the best time to try 2 years ago..
i know they are not going to spend any money on a non trout lake!! thats Utah for ya..
how many people here in utah know that before 2002 yuba was a world class walleye fishery? infisher men even said that the next world record walleye could come from yuba.. yeah right not if the DWR has anything to do with it..
the DWR say that perch run in cycals and do the boom bust thing.. but the only place i have seen this happen or even heard of it happening is here in utah..
could that be from better mangment of the waters in other states? or perch just dont do well here in utah?
you know most other states protact there perch over all other fish..
