Ice fish report for last weekend.

I went to Lake of the Woods this last weekend where the fishing is usually good on a bad day. Its not uncommon to catch 50 or more walleye in a day. What is uncommon is my trip, we caught around 20 the entire weekend between 7 guys, and 13 of those were keepers. I did end up with one 6# eelpout, but decided not to enter the picture in the contest since its not really a fish (in my book). I could not believe how slow it was, the weather had a lot to do with the bite and I hope to get back there in late feb or Mar.

I went out erlier today, and almost caught a frost bite. I had to give it a break about 3:30 and went back out again around 4:30. between 3 anglers we pulled up 26 keeper gills and one crappie.

Just got back from ice fishing. Nothing, nada, zilch.

Haven't caught a thing yet but I'm getting better at drilling through that ice with the hand auger. Rather than racing to get through I've been going slow and steady. So much easier on the body.
