Willard Evening 5/28
#1
I had a good evening tonight at Willard. I started at 6:00 p.m. and ended up catching nine walleye, three smallmouth bass, and one hefty catfish that slammed my crankbait. Not too bad for a couple hours.

Nice going.  The evening bite can be really good up there.  I once boated 14 walleye in two hours out by the light pole trolling SR7s in walleye.
Single main, no kicker. Wink

Evening seems to be a good bet the past week. Shawn knocked them dead over the weekend in the evening too.

Love good weather evenings and a good bite.

Yes it was. No wind, a bit overcast, and surprisingly few bugs. Hard to beat that.

Shawn has been killing it for sure. He has it dialed in.

No it's not. They had it wrapped in plastic to keep people from trying to push carcasses through.

Cleaning station north was working today - and still was after I cleaned my three fish 5/29. But I know how to use one.

Maybe I should launch at the north instead of the south. The road construction on 4000 N is a pain and they are working on Hwy 89 over in Willard by the Chevron. That access runs right down to the Ogden Gun Club. But right now no access to it coming from the south.

I do like having 3 ramps to choose from when I go to the south.

So can you get to the south Marina from the gun club road or is it better to go in from plan city?

We have been using that gun club road for years, up until recently it is a much better road, a lot less traffic, up until they started working on the side road but you can go right by that side road then turn around and and go back and that works too.

Yes, but they are re-doing the road. No asphalt for a big stretch, dirt only, and 25 mph. Really bumpy.
