i went out for the afternoon today to the lake. The edges were soft. there was about 4 inches of solid ice by the dam and five inches of slush on top of it. in the 4 hours there i witnessed one bit for another guy and i caught one 10 inch fish on a jaw jacker. i blame it on the weather, air, and temp pressure.

Thanks for the report. Looks like the weather is to stay below freezing for the highs and the lows around zero, according to the Post Register. That should firm up the slush and make for some decent ice. I certainly don't like soft edges.
