Bountiful lake? - JJ-fisher - 12-19-2016 Has anyone fished this this year? I have not ever fished it and am curious where to start! It is close to my work and if the ice is good I will go later this week. Any info about ice and fishing it would be great.[shocked][fishon] [signature] Re: [JJ-fisher] Bountiful lake? - El_Matador - 12-19-2016 I fished it once for about 2 hours and landed a nice largemouth. It is mostly a mud flat with some water on top! There are some deeper areas that you can actually see on Google Earth so that's where I'd start if I was ice fishing it. I remember seeing some ice fishermen out there last year while driving past. [signature] Re: [JJ-fisher] Bountiful lake? - doitall5000 - 12-19-2016 Just drove past it. Two cars parked by the inlet, with four people walking down the north side. Not on the lake. Looked to me like a thin skiff of ice, with seagulls setting on it. Not ready today, maybe 4 or 5 days. Last year with five grand kids had a great time catching 9 inch rainbows, cheese, and worms. Take the kids but leave the fish. If your taking the kids fish right in front of the docks on the east and south side. Usually catch albino trout 8 to 12 inches. They like ice flys tiled with worms, powerbait, meal or wax worms. They have done a lot of dredging this summer on the north shoreline and at the inlet. I will investigate those in sure sometime this season. [signature] |
