-- January 30-31: Full Moon Madness. A $40 pass entitles the angler to
catch 15
trout and/or catfish fishing from Friday evening through Saturday
afternoon, or
Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon. There is also a special deal
for
families. Dad buys the $40 pass and Mom and up to three kids 12 and
under can
help him fill the 15-fish stringer for no additional fee. Camping is
free, too.
-- Feb. 12-16: Steelhead Debut. The king of the rainbow trout, the
steelhead,
will be planted in both Santa Ana River Lakes and Corona Lake for this
special
event. These are pink-meated beauties that take to the air when they
feel the
bite of the hook. Bring your valentine out and let them fall in love
with these
great fighters.
-- Feb. 19-22. Steelhead and Super Trout Combo. Corona and SARL will
get heavy
stockings of both steelhead and super trout over the 10-pound mark.
Some trout
will top 20 pounds. Some steelhead will leap two feet out of the water.
-- Feb. 28-29. Big Cash-Big Prize Trout Tournament. While details are
still
being hammered out. The event will feature an entrance fee and a
tournament fee.
The tournament fee will be split among the winners with a 100 percent
payout. It
will be a battle of the best trout anglers in Southern California to
see who can
catch the most and biggest trout. Massive plants will go in for this
event.
