fish finder help - makinawfisher19 - 01-25-2016

I am getting a Garmin fish finder and it is set up for a boat with a boat mount transducer. Can anyone give me any ideas how to convert that to an ice fishing setup without buying an ice transducer? Thanks and happy fishing.

It can be done. Most people build a "T" out of pvc or similar material and mount the transducer to the bottom. I just finished one for my fish finder and I used some 1/2" pex tubing that I had laying around. Here is a post where Wiperhunter2 posted pics of his setup:

Yeah by making a bracket with PVC. And a few screws the transducer will sit nicely over the hole. The lunch bag holds the FF great with a little padding for protection from the elements.

[#0000FF]I have rigged up several different setups, using an LCD sonar on ice. I now use a Showdown, but here are some pics of how I rigged a Humminbird 565, with the 'ducer beneath a float.

I think I may have a lunch box set up at home you can have. I'll check when I get home. I live in West Valley.
