Ririe Kokanee and walleye? - oregonguy - 07-10-2015

How's the fishing been lately? Planning on hitting it on Sunday primarily for kokes but may also try eye and smallies. Thanks

Smallies are usually good this time of year but rarely the 12" minimum for keeping. Kokes should be decent in the early mornings. Eyes are so rare I have yet to actually talk to someone that successfully targets them. Good luck and look forward to a report

Check out an article in the Post Register on Thursday about Ririe Reservoir. It is fishing very good for kokes.

I have not been out to Ririe for about a month but was able to catch some kokes at that time. Best tactic then was a hootchie behind a sling blade on the downriggers at 40 feet plus...

I have never caught a walleye out of there but did hear of a 27 incher taken within the last week or so... but again I "heard" about it, did not "see" proof of it. Pretty much any that I have heard of being caught have been done so incidentally and not when being specifically targeted.
