Heise Hot Springs & Ririe Reservoir - Lundman - 05-08-2015 Hi BFT'ers - I have a friend that is retiring on Jun 16 in Idaho Falls, He loves fishing and I was wondering if Ririe would be worth dragging the boat up from Salt Lake to enjoy a morning of fishing (maybe for Kokanee) and an afternoon relaxing in the Hot Springs at Heise. I have already purchased the non-resident AS boat stamp and second pole permit and was hoping for a little intelligence. Thanks for anything you wish to share and hoping I can get a ticket on the retirement train sooner than the 10 years I have to go.... Good luck [signature] Re: [cpierce] Heise Hot Springs & Ririe Reservoir - curt69 - 05-09-2015 CJ Strike is more than 200 miles from Idaho Falls . Are you trying to do everything in one day ? It is very hard to learn a new body of water in 1 day . One good thing is Juniper Boat Dock on Ririe resivior and Heise Hot Springs are less than 20 miles apart . For the Depth. Old School. Idaho [signature] Re: [Idaho] Heise Hot Springs & Ririe Reservoir - fallsfish - 05-09-2015 Juniper and Hiese is doable. Koke fishing this spring has been slow. I've done the best mid-lake and the power lines. Pink and green wedding rings tipped with corn has produced fish. Pink\green\whiite hoochies with corn also works. Most fish have been 20-30 fow, so a down rigger or leadcore line is necessary. I've caught a few 16 inch ones this spring though. Hope this helps. Enjoy the retirement party. Three feet on front of your dodger put a swivel with a bead and an ounce to an ounce and a half of lead at 1 to 1.5 mph will get you 17/22 feet 2 Oz at that those speeds will get you to 30 ft or so.
