Kelly Beach on the south shore has five inches of ice and there are limit catches of perch on minnows .

Higgins Lake off of Kelly Beach on the south shore has 8"of ice and there are limit catches of perch on minnows, spikes and wigglers.
Off the west access the ice is 3" to 6" thick at the smelt grounds , there running up to 9".
