strawberry bad day 10/4/14 - mtncat1 - 10-05-2014 fished strawberry today had a pretty good day , water temp 56 deg f.boated about 30 fish casting tube jigs and cranks, about ten more trolling white rmt squids. 20 fow.left at 3 pm only to have this happen to the guy next to us what a bummer. but over all a good trip. Plus the emergency break wouldn't hold. This ALMOST happened to us at Pineview because of this. I've seen a few tow vehicles in the water but that deep and sideways in front of the dock, that is crazy. Hope everyone got out ok. It ended up where it was because the open passenger door caught on the end of the dock as the Suburban floated by it. Had it not caught the end of the ramp it likely would have floated out even further and pulled the boat under when it sank (the boat was attached to the trailer by the front strap). No one was injured, probably because Kory pulled me to safety before getting run over by the front tires on the Suburban. No damage to boat or boat trailer. We caught over 100 fish between us, but otherwise a bad day. Sorry for the traffic jam that this caused to everyone at the ramp and thank you to the kind Wasatch Country Sheriff and the dive team. But on a positive note, better to have brake failure on a boat ramp than on the downhill side of Daniels summit. That would have been a total game changer.Glad to hear no one was injured. [signature]
