This could be bad! My buddy who is a very reliable person just caught his second perch in Ashton reservoir. I know the picture doesn't show what body pod water he is on but I know he's not lying and he getting a hold of F&G tomorrow to talk with them about it.

Haven't they been in there for a while? Perch are an extremely good forage fish and make for trout of rather large proportions!

The last year Mormon Reservoir was good before the drought, I caught a 21" football rainbow that had five whole perch in its stomach. He didn't get fat eating mayflies. When is Mormon Reservoir going to get back to the pre-drought days? They were some of the strongest fighting trout around.

I wonder if they got in there if they planted trout when the filled it a year or so ago. It was almost empty for repairs for several years. I like eating perch but they shouldn't be in that river/lake.

This isn't exactly news. F&G had a news article on it in the outdoors section a few years ago. I caught 3 of them in one of the side diversion ponds off the river just upstream from the hwy 20 bridge a couple years prior to that. I may have even mentioned it in a post here. I know that was at least 5 yrs ago. I figure if the perch haven't exploded and completely taken over yet, it's probably not really likely to happen unless conditions change more.
