Magic valley weekend report - Belasko - 07-16-2014
Went fishing Saturday from Walcott dam to baseline rd near Declo area. Didn't start too hot. Caught some carp and pike minnows then as we got further downstream started to find a few more bass. Especially near houses. The funny thing was natural cover didn't elicit much action, but man made structure usually granted a couple bass. What we didn't get in numbers we made up for in size though.
Sunday we went downstream and put in at lower salmon falls dam and floated down from there. Other than early on fishing was very slow. Landed trout and some pike minnows early then just like minnows thereafter. However the whitewater was really fun through there! Good thing because the temps were scorchers! Probly have to fish both area again sometime.

We been finding cats across from riverside bar. I hear the big girls are down by the dam. The bass are healthier than they've ever been, couple years ago they were skinny and pale. Caught a perch in the s curve. Tournaments have been won in the kitchen just like years past.
