Hello everyone!
Just took up fishing live up in South East Idaho and looking for some tips from the Pros.
I love it!
Have not caught a single thing yet but already I'm hooked!
I love just being out on the Snake or the Teton casting the day away.

I know people that have caught fish all their life and still ain't found what you have. It's good to read your words.
Small crankbaits will usually catch you something. Let them set a bit and twitch a couple times then reel varying speed and twitches.
I have took a bitsy minnows (my personal favorite of the tiny cranks), yozuri pens minnows, rebelcraws, rapala ultralight cranks, etc and wade/bank fished for hours/miles catching fish of many species constantly. Just remember to check line for abrasion after each catch, retying as often as needed.
My brother and I used to go buy one crankbait a piece and go fishing, the rule was we couldn't take nothing else, he always liked bright colors and I used mostly natural colors, we both caught fish.

Throwing lures mostly. Using pretty big variety from top and mid water Raps to a little heavier swim baits and Blue Fox spinners.

Lures can get expensive. When, a sag occurs. Find a nice hole. Float a few eggs. Maybe a crawler. Weigh them down. If you have to. Just find a nice hole. Play the hole. If it's gonna happen, it will.

Boise, the capital of Idaho, has a river that runs through town. With in eye shot of the capital building, in 1992, the second largest brown trout was caught by a child. The fish weighed in at 20 pounds.

I'll never buy into the child story. The bridge helped. The professor.

Float that river. With a rod and bait. Do not wait tell fall.

I really like the naturals, I figure those would be best because they resemble the minnows in the area, but I keep hearing from a lot of people that Orange and Yellow are huge quick strike colors around here.
Haven't been able to get out this week, its killing me.
Last week of school is bogging me down with a ton of crap I have to get in.
