I see wet foot prints, you eather spilled toe water over top the hole or you have an over flow in the lake some where.
we had an inch of snow this morn, it is gone now. 40* ate all my snow and my ice.

GOOD OBSERVATION DAVE !
IT WAS THE HEAVY DENCE SNOW AND I BELIVE THE WEIGHT OF IT ALL WAS ACTUALLY PUSHING THE ICE DOWN BELOW THE WATER LINE . I STAYED VERY CLOSE TO SHORE .
AS YOU KNOW THE WATER LEVEL IN YOUR HOLE TELLS YOU A LOT ABOUT THE CONDITION OF THE ICE YOUR ON . IF IT IS LEVEL WITH THE TOP OF THE ICE YA GOTTA WATCH THINGS CAREFULLY . IF WATER FLOWES OUT OF THE HOLE , GET BACK TO SHORE IMMIDEATLEY !
IF THE WATER LEVEL IS DOWN INTO THE HOLE YOU CAN RELAX A BIT , BUT NEVER LET YOUR GUARD DOWN ON THE ICE !!!
I SAW SOME GUYS DOING SOMETHING I THOUGHT WAS A LITTLE SILLY UNTILL I REALLY THOUGHT ABOUT IT . THEY WERE PUTTING STICKS STANDING UP IN THE SNOW AS THEY WENT ALONG , THIS WOULD BE OF SOME HELP IN WHITE OUT CONDITIONS , YA JUST NEVER KNOW WHEN THESE THINGS WILL SNEAK UP ON YOU .
