Testing out the "ball of lint" - ddmoogs - 05-23-2014 Stopped for a couple of hours at my secret spot.. a.k.a the weber. I tied on a few of the go to flies (sows and pheasant tails) but without any takers. Then I tried something I tied up a while ago but never tested out. I didn't expect to catch anything on it because, well it just looks like a sloppy ball of lint with a bead head. I hooked up with a fatty on the first cast and hooked up with 4 more for the day. I only landed 2 of them due to a "drag malfunction", or at least that's what I'm telling myself. Anyways.. it's weird what a fish will decide to eat sometimes. I am always amazed when fish take my tying disasters! [blush] [signature] Re: [cpierce] Testing out the "ball of lint" - ddmoogs - 05-23-2014 Here it is. It looked a little better before being used today, but just barely. Also, it doesn't have a hook point because it broke off in the last fish [ ![]() [signature] Re: [ddmoogs] Testing out the "ball of lint" - cpierce - 05-23-2014 Nice buggy little fly. Hope you tie more of them. Fish do seem to like the combed out fuzzy nymphs. Must be the movement of the fibers. A similar example would be the bird's nest nymph. Here is what the bird's nest looks like ![]() [signature] Re: [ddmoogs] Testing out the "ball of lint" - OldTroller - 05-23-2014 Dude sweet pics keep the reports coming. It landed me a 19 incher and a couple 17's. Overall not bad for a few minutes on the water.
