CJ Narrows w/out a boat? - 1idahoguy - 04-16-2014

I've read plenty of posts regarding CJ. I have almost zero experience fishing there though. I would like to get my kids down there a little more often since it's so close to home.

Quick (rookie) question: Is it possible to fish the narrows without a boat? Are there trails down to the water from the rim?

Rattlesnakes. You'd be better off at cove arm or jacks creek.

real steep and virtually no beaches, wouldn't take my kids down there

That's all I needed to know. Thanks.

(time to convince the wife we *need* a boat!)

There is an access point in the narrows, but it leads to a relatively shallow bay. Max depth within casting distance is 10-15 feet. You can't get to the deeper water without a boat.

One of the parks would probably be a better bet with kids.
