Hey I was wondering if anyone has been up to Montpelier reservoir lately and if there is any safe fishable ice yet? If so how thick is the ice. I cant wait to get up there and catch some little perch they are a ton of fun and my son loves catching them to.

I will go check here in the next few days and post a report. I want everyone to come catch and keep all the perch they can handle. Its low this year so they ought to be concentrated wherever you go.

not sure what size they are now last year a lot were small but it was fast action and we had a lot of fun catching them

Same as last year the last time we bank fished it. Lots of action and small fish. My kids enjoy it and its 5 minutes from the house. I heard a rumor of it getting some tiger muskies, that would be great in my opinion....

yup that's what we like is the fast action. it was a ton of fun fishing with my son there last winter. We only were able to make one trip but we sure had a lot of fun.
Tiger muskies would be great to hook into. seems they thin out panfish pretty good to.

Plenty of ice and perch for everyone.....you can take a snomachine or a 4 wheeler out on the ice.
