It is amazing how easy they pull when you get the body of the sled up out of the snow .

Seems like the snow is often too deep for that to help me much. I take my ATV a lot, but can't take the ATV and the sled unless I pull a trailer too. That costs more in gas money, so I've been contemplating........ Can I get by without my sled and just pile everything on the ATV? I also bought a smaller sled last year (so now I have 2). The smaller sled would fit in the cab (back seat) of the truck, saving gas. Maybe I could get by with just the smaller sled? But then I'd need a new tow bar........ Hmmmmm. Too many things to think about. I'm going to have to quit my job so I can focus on the important things. [Wink][Wink][Wink][Wink]

I build my own tow bars . When the ice is thick enough I pull my shanty and my sled behind a 4 wheeler or snow machine . It looks like a train .

To avoid having to take a trailer and a sled for behind the ATV look at the drop baskets made for the ATV. They fit 3 5 gallon buckets behind the wheeler and you still have your rack for more gear. I put my auger and tent up on the front rack and buckets and other gear in the back. The best part its that you don't have to load and unload a sled at the ramp. everything rides fine in the rack. On mine and most others the drop portion comes off so you can take it off when needed. Paid 80 dollars for mine on ebay. Might be just what your looking for???

There are lots of brands and designs out there to fit a variety of needs and wants. I went cheap as I put it on a 13 year old wheeler.

That would be handy! Might invest in one of those. Is that the same one you use? Whats the quality? Decent?

They are chinese made and while doing my research it seemed the main problems were the welds were not ground down as much as they could be on some and a few reviews said the holes didn't line up perfect between the two pieces (both minor issues). That said mine showed up fine. Like I said before this is the cheapest one I could find anywhere and for more money the quality probably would improve and you may be able to find an american made one.

Let us know some of the pros and cons of it as you use it more. I would be interested.

I like the design. I just never seem to find flat ice. Until, I get down there. Then, I wonder how the heck I'm getting up. But, that's Ice fishing.
