Big Sand Wash thin ice report - Fish-Dog - 12-08-2003
I drove out to big sand wash reservoir sat. The water is really low but from the ice rings it appears to be rising about a foot a day. There was only slush for about 3 feet, then about 1 inch out at 8 feet, 2 to 2 1/2 at 10 feet. Past ten feet I couldn't throw a big enough rock to break the ice.
Starvation no ice at all
Soldier creek had thin ice for 150 yards in the bay near the highway.
Strawberry had just a very short rim of ice at the ladders, with 6 or 7 people fishing from the shore. couldn't see any boats
Deer Creek no ice quite a few people fishing from the shore, I saw no boats.

Did you see any activity going on at Sand wash involving the enlargement of that reservoir???? I am curious on how that is going???

The Enlargement of Big Sand Wash will not be bid until Jan 7th 2004, I wouldn't expect to see any work on site until about Mar or Apr. at the earliest.
