SMB at blacktail - ironrod - 08-20-2013 [ ![]() Started fishing around 6pm until dark . Close to 20+ fish landed each trip. Two best baits: double curly tail black on 1/4 oz jig and light olive color rattle trap ( lipless crank ). I'm not much of a bass fisherman but I'm having fun learning! Picked up a few nice bows as well. My kids had a blast. [signature] Re: [ironrod] SMB at blacktail - AFFamily - 08-20-2013 Sounds like you had a great time! Pictures? Said the lake was full of big boats with no parents. Had one buzz him and the kid yelled, "Get out of the wake old man," pretty disrespectful. That's why I wait till Sept. 1 to hit blacktail. Then they can be disrespectful to their teachers in stead of me. ![]() Here's a photo of their catch. [signature] Re: [ironrod] SMB at blacktail - curt69 - 08-22-2013 I agree way to many small ones . Time to thin them out some . [signature] Re: [curt69] SMB at blacktail - tire-guy - 08-23-2013 When I went earlier. This summer there was someone for fish and game doing a servay on to keep the 12 inch rule in the regs the next time they come out curious to see what happens [signature] Re: [ironrod] SMB at blacktail - wbfish - 08-23-2013 I agree they need to make it no smb between 12''to16'' and only one over 16'' and take some small ones out for dinner for a few years and see if that helps get some bigger fish going . They grow slow in there but I know that there are some over 3 pounds [signature] |
