If yours has the same rings, make sure they are on snug, my reel fell off in my lap out in the lake...scary stuff.[shocked] [signature] Re: [Catcherman.] New rod and fishing invite! - cpierce - 07-08-2013 I too have a Cabela's cgr (green) 6' 6" 3wt. Very nice stream rod. I also recommend checking your reel seat now and then. Dropped my reel in a stream. I got it back, but got a little wet doing it. Never had a problem with the reel seat. What line you using on yours?[ ![]() [signature] Re: [pa] New rod and fishing invite! - flygoddess - 07-09-2013 You bet pa plus purple soft hackles [ ![]() [signature] Re: [pa] New rod and fishing invite! - cpierce - 07-09-2013 The problem with the reel-seat was because I didn't check that it was still tight after I had done some brush beating through the willows. Of course when it dropped it immediately washed into a nice deep hole. I could have pulled it up by pulling all the line and backing out, but that was sure to get tangled down the stream. So I opted to work it as close as I could and then was able to hook it on my net, but I had to reach with about half of me leaning in the water. The air was blue around me, but my, it was Refreshing!! [laugh] [laugh] The line I am using is a SA weight forward floating 3wt. I like how the rod casts, but I have only used it on small streams with short casts. It is a fun rod. I ought to try it on some bluegills too.
