So i just came up with a ? for you wallie savey dudes. Whats a good size to keep to eat when we go next weekend to oakley i wanna know whats good to keep for our end of the weekend fish fry. And i would fall out of the boat with joy if i hooked into a walleye PERIOD! looks like an awsome day.

Fish between 14" and 20" are great eating and provide enough to actually have a meal for a family. Anything bigger need to be turned loose. Ron

Thanks Ron! i dont keep or eat anything over 20" or under 12 so should work out perfect for me[cool]. Man i cant wait i might have to make a trip up there before memorial just to try for a walleye LOL! man im addicted to the outdoors.

Just for information: The larger walleye in Oakley and Salmon Falls Cr Res have high mercury accumulation. Best to eat the smaller ones and let the big ones go back.

Nope just a sunfish. I have actually caught a Tilapia out of Oneida though! Couple yrsago. I posted pix with my BFT flag[sly]

dma... Thanks for the report/evidence that some spiney rayed fish are being caught somewhere on this side if the state! Agree with the comment that stated that small is better than nothing! Looks like the weather was good for you as well. Let us know if you get anything bigger on your next outing. Also... those 14 to 18 or so inch eyes are the BEST!
