Warm River - flyfish_88 - 04-30-2013
Spent the day up on warm river on Saturday. It was a beautiful day with caddis hatching on and off all day long. Started out using streamers and caught a small brown but didn't have much other luck on the streamers. Once the caddis hatch started switched to an E.H. Caddis and caught a few on them. My smaller weight rods were back at the truck and so I had the tough experience of fishing a tiny little dry fly with an 8 wt. kinda tough but still caught a few. The wind started picking up off and on during the afternoon and the caddis seemed to disappear until a break in the wind. Ended up switching to a nymph dropper set up and that was the most productive of the day. We all caught several suckers that I had never seen up in Warm River before. Seemed like they were spawning or something. They were every where. Ended my day with a nice 17" bow. Biggest fish for me this year and biggest so far on warm river. Fished till about 4 and we were all beat. Didnt think to take sunscreen so I'm paying price still.
