Grantsville Res. - kjox21 - 04-03-2013 Went to Grantsville last week on thursday 3/28 as its one of the only bodies of water that is completely open near SLC. Didnt have much luck, only a few tugs on the line, but no hook ups. I tried several colors of chironomids at several depths with no luck. I got all my hits on buggers down deep. I heard of a few gear guys catching a few bouncing jigs off of the bottom, but overall it was pretty slow. Heading back this week to try my luck again. I agree if you are in a float tube or pontoon, drag the bottom with a leech pattern. The bugger colors were black, brown, green, and orange with all different sizes and looks. I went back today and got my butt handed to me again! Looks like that little reservoir has my number [signature] Re: [kjox21] Grantsville Res. - Tangled_not - 04-04-2013 The mossy green wooly bugger in the attached pic is my best bet @ g-ville. Fished just off the bottom. The male brown in the pic was mad as hell that he suckered for that bugger. I could see it on his face, he was thinking "that's a trick those stupid rainbows fall for!" Hopefully next time I head out to grantsville the fish will be in a biting mood. [signature] Re: [kjox21] Grantsville Res. - Tangled_not - 04-07-2013 Good luck. I haven't fished it yet this spring. There are a bunch of crayfish in and amongst the rocks,so i'm guessing that color of wooly bugger must imitate pretty well. [signature] |
