South fork Clearwater yesterday. - chrome_junky - 03-16-2013 Water is up and colored quite nicely. The river is hard to wade right now so i opted for comradery and to bottom bounce with my new lamiglass instead of fly fish.Problem is fish are moving fast and rolling every where. I went one for three for the day and only seen one other fish hooked. I fished beads the whole day ( so did every body else under bobbers.) as I am fresh out of helgies and slider worm and nobody up here sales them because nobody uses them.Duct taped 4 runner has that on lock for me though. He's mailing me a surplus of plastics today. Should be able to use them next weekend. Two pictures of the same fish bellow. Or is it going to get blown out cause of all the rain?? I am getting excited! Rut [signature] Re: [chrome_junky] South fork Clearwater yesterday. - cpierce - 03-18-2013 That is a beautiful fish. Congrats! [signature] Re: [chrome_junky] South fork Clearwater yesterday. - trout-boy - 03-18-2013 I looked up those helgies and slider worms you spoke of. I can see why the helgies would be a good tactic they are like real life black jigs wooley buggers etc. Do you use them a lot for steelhead? Find them more effective than small black jigs? Las I heard they were all the way to mount idaho in number, I would assume they are pretty well dispersed top to bottom in the southfork now? I very rarely fish jigs but the helgies would probably work well on a jig head under a float. There are fish through out the whole river now.
