What are some good bait use for the early spawn?I was thinking maybe some jigs or crawdads but don't really know?

Jigs are good, but you'll want something you can fish a little faster ...maybe a crank bait, swimbait or spinner bait. Any fishing site will have a spring list or look through old issues of Bassmaster online.
Huddleson makes a nice crawdad imitation. So does river 2Sea

For spawn i usually run a football jig or jig n pig. Something that i can keep on the bottom and generate a bite for getting it anywhere near a nest.
