First pontoon sturgeon trip this year - idahoron - 03-02-2013 I got out to Sugar cube creek today. Air temp was in the low 50's and the water was 42 degrees. I fished for 3 hours. I got a couple of bites but I think they were squaw fish. I saw a couple on the fish finder but they were not on the bottom. This is the first trip I have made this year. I am now using No ethanol gas and it runs great. I put in a new spark plug and I am ready for the season. I took some pictures even though I was not successful. I took the bass boat to CJ. Fishing was slow water temp 45. Crappie guys already in the narrows. Taking Gertrude to lower Salmon tomorrow, bass clubs having a big bass derby, but I'm going sturgeon fishing. Sure wish the water would come up so I could get me some sugar. ![]() [signature] Re: [dtayboyz] First pontoon sturgeon trip this year - 2dogs - 03-02-2013 Ron, glad to see you got out on such a nice day. Last time I went up to "Sugar Cube Creek" we hooked 5 and they were all between 3-5 1/2 ft. long. Nothing any bigger. You ever caught bigger ones there? Went to Lower Salmon today and caught 2 little guys and lost a good one. Also caught a bunch of mussels. I took it in to make sure everthing is good to go and I am going to have them go over it with me to help me understand how to start it and everything. I hope to cut the time down a little going into Sugar Cube Creek. I can get about 4.8 MPH going up stream. I get over 5 MPH going down. I hope to be over 6 both ways I am keeping my fingers crossed. That will help me get through the first set of small rapids. The road on the north side sux. [signature] Re: [dtayboyz] First pontoon sturgeon trip this year - idahoron - 03-03-2013 Or even right above the rapids on the south side. Have you ever found out who owns them? I am trying to figure out how to get my big boat down the road on the North but like you said it sux.
