Trout Fisherman’s Paradise in Southwest Wisconsin - asteckly - 02-07-2013

The hundreds of cold water streams that pass through the Driftless Area in southwest Wisconsin provide some of the best trout fishing for Browns, Brooks, and Rainbows in the Midwest. After a long day of fishing, I can stay overnight in Wisconsin’s oldest inn, the Walker House, in Mineral Point (www.thewalkerhouse.org). The owners supply a hearty complimentary breakfast, and the House’s Project Director is an avid fly fisherman who knows all the hot spots in the local streams. I even traded one of my flies for a room discount.
