Got my first spey set up. - chrome_junky - 02-05-2013

Made it to The Redshed yesterday morning. Let me start off by saying that Poppy and his son are two of the nicest guys i have ever met. They answered every question I had and broke it down so that I could understand it with out me having to ask to. after a little bit of shooting the @#$%! I was lucky enough to meet trouthunter and he told me he would give me a free casting lesson if i picked up a setup while I was there. After i tested the water with the wife I pulled the trigger and ended up getting the Echo combo they have. Echo TR 7130 13ft #7 with an Echo Ion 8/10 reel. I also went with a Scandi compact shooting head.

Well I never expected to be offered free casting lessons so i didn't have my waders with me. Poppy's son gave me a set of loaner waders and boots to barrow and we went down to the river and had my first lesson. its amazing and i can already tell you I'm hooked.

Big thanks to The Redshed and Trouthunter!!!!
