Elk on Bear lake - outdoorsman1 - 10-24-2012
This past month when I was fishing on Bear Lake with my kids and a good friend we saw something that looked like a cow wading in the lake after getting a little closer we could see that it was a bull elk that was cooling off and getting a little drink. That is the first elk that ive ever seen on the lake and thought I would share my pics.

Yeah, it was. I think maybe some archery hunters chased him down there. He wanted to swim across the lake until he saw us coming toward him.....

We were up there also & saw this bull. We pulled in shortly after the Parks boat got there. I assume you were the first boat there? It looked like it turned into quite a circus with the DWR trying to scare it back up the hill. We just took a few pictures of him & decided he wanted to go swimming, so we took off to let him do his thing. Elk are great swimmers & he would not have had a problem swimming the Big Blue. My daughter took the pictures & they are a little fuzzy. She claims the boat was rocking[crazy]
