Preston area lakes - brownieguy - 09-30-2012
Any news on the various lakes down that way?
I took my daughter for a drive down that way and checked out weston, deep creek, and devils creek. All three of which are low but still in decent shape.
the trout at Deep Creek were actively feeding and we saw a family catch a couple fish while we hiked around there. My daughter fell and cried a little bit and spooked a group of 6 deer, the fall part wasn't fun but the deer got her attention pretty quick and then she was just excited to see some animals.
There were a couple people fishing at weston but from what I could tell they weren't doing anything.

Bass and panfish are still active, and the trout definitely seem to be perking up. Water is pretty low all around, but fishing is still good, at least in the lakes that weren't massacred. Water was still in the mid to upper 60s as of the end of last week in the lake I was fishing.

I went to twin last weekend and only caught 1 perch 6 planter trout and 4 bass. It was slow but the kids still had fun.

Have been catching alot of bass the last month or so. seems to be starting to slow down a bit. I caught this one Saturday afternoon. Caught a few after dark in the moonlight on buzz baits . Pm if you want to go some time...

Those are some nice bass. I think I need to try some different ponds soon.
