epoxy depth finder transducer in a yak - kentpil - 08-21-2012 The neck broke off the transducer on my deep V fishing boat but the transducer still works. Put a new color unit on the big boat and I was thinking of mounting the old fish finder on my yak and mounting the transducer inside the yak with epoxy , People mount them on glass boats so I figured that it should read through my loon 138. Anyone tried doing this? I used to use it until I found an adhesive called Lexel. It works great and stays flexible unlike most two-part epoxies. If you cut out a piece of closed cell foam in the shape of your transducer and glue it to the hull it'll keep the adhesive from spreading out all over the hull. [signature] |
