WHITE BASS YES YES YES!!! - Flyfishinglover - 08-01-2012
Today I decided to have some fun fishing for white bass and get some serious action. I woke up at 4:00am get out of the house arounds 5am. Drove down to provo river and in my head I have all of the reports in my head it can be a hit or a miss but still I drove down there. Just walked around to find some fish messed around for a little bit then I needed some serious action. Pulled out rapala cd some thing XD rainbow tossed it and bam walleye following it and smacks it takes it and when about to land it bam just got off. Looks like my bucket list didnt shrink today. [:/] Found a few bluegills both were 8 1/2 in. Later i found nice schools of white bass. I smell fishy filling my basket so after finding the right are i mostly killed the place before leaving. End up with 51 white bass and 2 bluegills.
Oh ya the fun just began. My car was 2 + miles away from where i fish and i have to carry a heavy full basket of fish.
Idk what is wrong with me when im targetting a new species of fish or a fish that i havent caught for quite some time I end up slaying them by the end of the day. ^_^

I'm not so sure I just jumped on my patents old pc and up load it if u click pic download then it should give a menue option what place to open and I think click like window media player if your pc or laptop is a window. Ha ha ha idk but this year is just a year that I catch the number game finally. Every fish I caught still left a scare on me gosh there worse then perch.

you should invest in an electric fillet knife. It would reduce the time by half.[laugh] I wouldnt part with my electric for anything.. Nice catch on the whities.

+1 on the electric knife. I still use a manual for "finishing touches" - but rough slabbing a stack of panfish - flies!

Yeah I still use a hand fillet knife for taking the ribs out but I wouldnt trade in the electric. His pictures are in IMG format. I can open them but not sure what it takes to turn them to jpg

Way to go on the white bass....you should turn those guys into "White Bass Chowder". I will send the recipie after work tonight...it tastes amazing...but prepare to kiss your diet goodbye.
As for chasing white bass with you...I am gonna wait for ice up on Utah Lake and the spawn next spring.
