Sucessful Jetty Fishing CT - Spencer7 - 07-18-2012 Went for an hour to test out my new rig on Sunday. The setup is a 7' St.Croix med/heavy Tidemaster rod with a Shimano Stradic 5000 FJ Awesome The location was at Tods Point in CT, was on a jetty fishing into the Long Island Sound I was bored with a dropping barometer, and a beneficial tide so I went out for a bit using some new lures. Initially i tried a soft shad with no luck, then switched to 3/4 oz Need-L-Eel (metal and similar to deadly dick). First caught a sea robin and then caught a nice 3-4 pound bluefish, loved the rod and reel, very smooth. 30 mins after leaving it rained the hardest it has all year with a 4hr thunder storm. Just thoughti would share because it was a short positive experience, that taught me a few things [ ![]() [signature] |
