Warm Lake - Bronco66 - 07-01-2012 Hello! I'm going to be fishing warm lake for Lake trout Monday and tuesday and was looking for some advice! I have a little walker down rigger that I believe drops me down 100 feet but I was also thinking just hanging bait and weight and letting the wind push me around and try to stay as deep as possible. Is there a better bait than others for them or a size or color spoon or lure I should try? Dodgers? Flashers? I will be buying a few new peices of gear but trying to keep it to a minimum cause the old wallet is hurting a little lately ![]() [signature] Re: [Bronco66] Warm Lake - Kodiak1 - 07-01-2012 Posted this last year. Hope it helps. We were using light kokanee pop gear. I think we might have done just as well trolling just a wedding ring and worm. I would't go buy lots of equipment for these recent planters!! Have fun. It is a beautiful place to fish. Let us know how you do. Mike Warm Lake If you are looking for a good fishing trip for the kids, Warm Lake is a sure-bet for a limit of planter-sized trout, with some holdovers running somewhat larger. Doubles were the order of the day for Kali and I today, trolling on the surface with lightweight pop gear and a wedding ring. It's beautiful up there now. Saw a bank fisherman casting just west of the North Shore Lodge on the point, and he was also connecting. Mike [signature] Re: [Kodiak1] Warm Lake - Bronco66 - 07-01-2012 Thanks for the info! I'm mostly after just mackinaw though. I've never caught one and looking to knock it off the list! That and a larger brook trout. The biggest one I've ever caught was like 6 inches ![]() [signature] Re: [Bronco66] Warm Lake - Crappie_htr - 07-01-2012 I have fished Warm Lake for over 60 years. and it has been 30 years since there were any lake trout planted. and 20 years since I heard of one being caught. Payette Lake at McCall would be a better bet. Sorry to throw cold water on the plan, but thought you should know. Good Luck [signature] Re: [Bronco66] Warm Lake - redfish1 - 07-01-2012 If you are looking for a smaller lake I think Stanley Lake also has lake trout. I have yet to try it, but it is on my to do list. Good luck. [signature] Re: [Bronco66] Warm Lake - hooknhunter - 07-02-2012 PM sent. [signature] Re: [hooknhunter] Warm Lake - Bronco66 - 07-17-2012 It's a little late, but wanted to follow up! Ended up hooking 2 Mack's at Payette lake near the island jigging a lead lure shaped and colored like a fish. Sorry I don't know what they are called. 6 hours Of fishing in high swells cause of other boats for 2 fish was a little slow for me, but knocked it off the list finally. Caught em between 20 and 40 feet! I'll add pics in a bit! [signature] Re: [Bronco66] Warm Lake - wilcam47 - 07-17-2012 [quote Bronco66]It's a little late, but wanted to follow up!
