what to fish for - hiwasseetaco - 06-24-2012 Hello, I just moved to Idaho and have no fishing experience. The Snake River runs behind my house which is about 8 miles north of Idaho Falls. The river seems very deep here and the current fairly strong. I was curious to know about the depth of the river in this area and what fish I should be trying for. So far I have just been using a spinner and havn't gotten a nibble. Any info is good info. Re: [hiwasseetaco] what to fish for - L-D-R - 06-24-2012 well i would buy a few crank baits and cast for small mouth bass [signature] Re: [hiwasseetaco] what to fish for - Kodiak1 - 06-24-2012 First, welcome to the site. I am on the other side of the state, and thus can't help you, but I am sure Windriver and others can; you will hear from the "east side" crowd shortly. Let us know how you do. You will catch mostly trout . Curt G. [signature] Re: [hiwasseetaco] what to fish for - cpierce - 06-24-2012 Welcome to BFT and Idaho. There should probably be mostly trout and maybe smallmouth bass in that section of the river. This article might interest you: http://idahoman.com/big-brown-trout-in-main-snake-river/ [signature] |
