Best day on the Snake EVER!! - jbsport36 - 06-21-2012
So today my dad called and we had to run down the river by blackfoot and try out the fishing. It started off with a bang. Only 30 min into it and a couple drifts down a hole, i hooked up a nice 5lb cutthroat. I have seen a few hybrids down that way, but never a full cut. We then ventured to a new hole further down and it was a whammy, I landed this nice 8 lb brown, by far the biggest non steelhead or salmon i have ever caught. We continued to land another 2 5lb hybrid and rainbows and called it a day after only 3 hours of actual fishing. it was a blast.

I was wondering.......
What kind of boat do you use in that area? Drift? If you drift below Blackfoot is there a ramp midway below there to get out, or do you have to go all the way to the lake? Thanks!

we use a phantom sportjon to run up and down. we actually load and unload at tilden area and then go inbetween there and the res. i have heard its really good up above that also, but we just haven't ever ventured that way.

I too had trouble opening the pictures. I had to download them and add the .jpg extension on them. You might try correcting your file names and reloading them.

Great day of fishing. Those are some nice fish! I to had to download them to my computer and then add .jpg to the end of the name in order to open them.

There is another boat ramp below Tilde.. It is just where the Snake dumps into American falls. Some of the best fishing in the Snake from there to Golden. My 18time ft Weldcraft is what I use to go up the river. You need to run up to Tilden to learn the river. Some years that section can be real nasty.. I prefer checking up river over going downstream. Minnows work well.
Remember thaw south bank is Indian reservation and off limits.
